Confederate dead are honored in Dyersburg City Cemetery, where those buried include Brig. Gen. Otho French Strahl and many other named compatriots who rest in the cemetery's hallowed ground; the memorial was erected and dedicated on November 30, 2004, the 140th anniversary of the Battle of Franklin and of Strahl's death, by the William A. Dawson Camp #1821 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
