Over 150 Confederate dead lie in this sacred soil after being killed in nearby skirmishes or dying in one of the local hospitals. These headstones were placed by The Confederate Memorial Camp 1432, Sons of Confederate Veterans under the direction of Jeff Bailey, Commander 2012.
