Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, grew from former farmland into a large nonprofit destination centered on gardens, museums, and a working farm. Founded in 1995 by Karen Jackman Ashton and Alan C. Ashton after he purchased the land, it was created to offer a community garden and farm experience rooted in gratitude. Farm Country opened in 1996, followed by the gardens in 1997 and their full opening in 2000. Later additions, including the Museum of Ancient Life, the Museum of Natural Curiosity, and Butterfly Biosphere, expanded it into a major family, education, and community center that now attracts about 2.8 million visitors annually.
