Faith
28
Organized in 1791 as a Baptist church by Elders Lewis Corban and John Conner, this congregation held early services under threat from Indians. Squire Boone preached here in 1798. In 1826 it was reorganized as Williamstown Particular Baptist Church by William Conrad, who was imprisoned as a Confederate sympathizer in 1864 and served as pastor for 54 years. The present building was erected in 1892, and in 1975 the church became affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.
