Julien D. Wyatt attended Easley High School, graduated from Wofford College with AB and MA degrees in 1919, earned an LLB from Georgetown University in 1923, and a DCL from American University in 1926. He was an attorney, banker, civic leader, editor, benefactor, school trustee, cofounder of Carolina National Bank, also known as Easley Bank, cofounder of Home Building and Loan, president of Home Insurance Agency, patron of Easley Library, trustee of Easley Public Schools, president of the founding board of trustees of Easley General Hospital, trustee of the Easley Chamber of Commerce, and publisher and editor of the Easley Progress from 1942 to 1960. He had a great affection for the mountains of South Carolina and especially Jocassee Valley. In appreciation for many kindnesses he showed them when they were boys, including some financial assistance, J. Hal Jameson, Garnet A. Barnes, John Thomas Gentry, R. Maxie McCoy, Eddie Ellison, Ottis M. Ballenger, R. Stewart Bauknight, James C. Brice, Felix L. Finley, James C. King, James A. Hughes, J. Lake Williams, W. Jack Ragsdale, Sam C. Williams, and L.C. Dillard honored him.
