Pocosin Wilderness is a protected wilderness area in the Croatan National Forest in eastern North Carolina. Designated in 1984, it spans 11,801 acres of vast wetland marked by difficult, undeveloped terrain. With no trails or campsites, travel through it is challenging. Its importance rests in its unbuilt character as a roadless, minimally developed landscape within one of coastal North Carolina’s major public forest lands.
