Mill Creek
Nature
Mill Creek is a protected wildland in western Virginia’s George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, occupying a secluded Appalachian valley between Pearis Mountain and Wolf Creek Mountain near Pearisburg and Narrows. Known for steep ridges, dense vegetation, waterfalls, and broad views from heights such as Angels Rest and Sentinel Point, it combines scenic appeal with ecological value. Its streams are noted for high water quality and natural trout habitat, while traces of early twentieth-century logging and an eighteenth-century stone dam reflect long human use. Despite past land-management disputes, most of the area is now managed as remote, non-motorized backcountry.
