C. Grooms Smithy
Arts & Culture
1
Built in 2012 and named for Mr. Charlie Grooms, this functional workshop reflects his leadership of an all-volunteer committee from 2006 to 2012 and his role in inspiring several outdoor exhibit areas at Discovery Park of America. The smithy displays tools and equipment used by turn-of-the-twentieth-century tradesmen such as blacksmiths, carpenters, and leatherworkers, and the working blacksmith forge inside was built by the Tennessee River Artist Blacksmith Association.
