Leone Schmidt devoted much of her life to researching and writing about Warrenville history. A founding member of the Warrenville Historical Society, she was named city historian in 1977. In 1999, she received the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award. A park was named in her honor in 2011. Her hard work and dedication to Warrenville history is reflected in her six books and the story of the community remembered within the walls of the Warrenville Historical Museum.
