The Crooked River caldera is a large ancient volcano and vent complex spanning three counties in central Oregon. About 41 x in diameter, it is especially significant for the welded tuff found at Gray Butte, Smith Rock, Powell Buttes, Grizzly Mountain, and Barnes Butte. The volcano is considered extinct, and its last eruption occurred about 29.5 Ma.
