Village Creek State Park is a 6,909-acre state park on Crowley’s Ridge in Cross and St. Francis counties in eastern Arkansas, created after a 1967 study and dedicated on June 27, 1976. Beyond its recreational role, the park preserves important layers of regional history. Parts of the Old Military Road pass through the site and later became part of the Trail of Tears, while sections of William Strong’s mid-19th-century plantation also remain within its boundaries. With two lakes, camping, trails, and a golf course, the park links outdoor recreation with interpretation of Crowley’s Ridge, local wildlife, and the history of tribes forced west along the Trail of Tears.
