Wayfarers Chapel was a small Swedenborgian church in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, designed by Lloyd Wright as a glass-walled sanctuary that blended worship space with the ocean, trees, and light around it. Conceived in the late 1940s as a memorial to Emanuel Swedenborg and built from 1949 to 1951, it became widely known for its dramatic blufftop setting, architecture, weddings, and appearances in film and television. Its architectural significance earned national recognition in 2023, but accelerating land movement forced its closure in 2024. The structure was dismantled that year to save as much original material as possible, with plans announced in 2025 to rebuild it nearby.
