The Somis School stands on the former site of the Somis Methodist Church. It was built in 1924 to replace an older school building that became the Somis Thursday Clubhouse. Originally, the school had only three classrooms. Modernization and expansion began in the 1930s and continue today. The school also serves as a community center for Somis.
