Greentown, Indiana, developed a distinctive glassmaking identity through the Indiana Tumbler and Goblet Factory, which began production in 1894, passed to the National Glass Company in 1899, and closed after a fire destroyed the building in 1903. Though brief, that era produced a recognizable body of tableware and decorative glass closely tied to the town. Incorporated in 1969, the Greentown Glass Museum preserves this legacy with more than seven hundred pieces, including vases, mugs, pitchers, salt cellars, toothpick holders, and covered dishes. The collection and the annual Greentown Glass Festival keep this short-lived manufacturing past central to the town’s civic memory and identity.
