Steppingstone Museum is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution on the Susquehanna River near Havre de Grace, Maryland, devoted to preserving Harford County’s rural heritage. Built around the private collection of J. Edmund Bull, who gathered about 7,000 tools and artifacts, it moved in 1979 to an 18th-century farm in Susquehanna State Park and grew into a working historical campus. Through historic barns, farm buildings, trade demonstrations, and special events, it interprets everyday rural life in 19th- and early 20th-century America. In June 2024, the museum suffered a major setback when its display barn burned down, destroying a structure valued at about $200,000.
