The Rock House
History
6
On December 7, 1756, the Council of the Colony recorded Jacob Hoffman's petition for 200 acres of bounty land, and in 1758 he was granted this acreage on Palmetto Branch. The building on this tract, long known as "The Rock House," exhibits construction details that support the local tradition that it was built before the American Revolution.
