Buffalo Trace Park is a 147-acre public park preserve near Palmyra in southern Indiana, set along the edge of the old Buffalo Trace, a route first formed by migrating bison and later adapted into a road. That connection links the park to the region’s earlier landscape and historic travel corridor. In 1971, the park gained 30-acre Lake Coleman, a man-made lake stocked with fish and maintained by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Owned by Harrison County and managed by its Park and Recreation Department, the park remains a local destination for fishing, boating, camping, walking, playgrounds, sports courts, a petting zoo, and disc golf.
