Lisa Pickering gave 16 years of dedicated service to the City of Yorkville, learning every moving piece and facet of its operations. She took great pride in her work, and her dedication and attention to detail allowed her career to progress through many positions. In her role as City Clerk, her talents shone brightest. She was a wealth of knowledge and also a caring and compassionate colleague and friend. She made a tremendous impact on the community she served and an even greater impact on those who knew and loved her. She cared deeply about Yorkville and its residents, and she and her husband chose to settle there to raise their children. For her, service was more than a job; it was an opportunity to make Yorkville the best place to live for her family and the community at large. She was a loving mother and companion, a voracious reader, and an avid bicyclist with a favorite 25-mile path around the City of Yorkville. Her legacy is honored through a 25-mile virtual bike path that follows her favorite route through north central Yorkville.
