Wyoming Peak is the highest summit in the Wyoming Range, reaching 11,383 feet in western Wyoming within Bridger-Teton National Forest. Near its summit, Coffin Peak lies about 0.75 miles to the north-northwest as the range’s second-highest mountain. The peak’s importance comes not only from its height and prominence on the skyline but also from its former use as a fire lookout site, though the structure has collapsed. Its surrounding area has a subalpine Dfc climate based on interpolated data rather than summit weather observations. Wyoming Peak remains the defining high point of the range and a prominent mountain landmark in this part of the state.
