This line marked the boundary between the lands of the Choctaws and the Chickasaws. The last Choctaw lands were ceded to the U.S. in the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830, and the remaining Chickasaw lands were ceded by the Treaty of Pontotoc in 1832.
