Forest Glen Preserve is an eighteen hundred-acre nature reserve in Vermilion County, Illinois, between Westville and Georgetown. Established in 1968, it protects open space and serves as headquarters of the Illinois Native Plant Society. The preserve is a major destination for camping, hiking, fishing, picnicking, and birdwatching, with a mix of river scenery and wildlife habitat. Its eleven-mile River Ridge Backpack Trail loops through hilly terrain, crosses streams, and reaches an east camp with basic facilities. Visitors also use developed, hike-in, and group campsites, fish in the Vermillion River and several ponds, and enjoy views from a seventy-two-foot observation tower.
