College Creek Ranger Station in northeastern Oregon, near Imnaha along the Imnaha River in the Wallowa–Whitman National Forest, was built in 1935 as part of an expanding federal conservation landscape. Designed by U.S. Forest Service architects in the Pacific Northwest Region and constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it reflects the rustic architectural style used by the USDA and Forest Service to blend government buildings with their natural surroundings while expressing agency identity. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, the property includes four contributing buildings and is valued as a strong example of Forest Service design and of the federal conservation effort behind it.
