The original fire bell used in Fairfax dates from the town's establishment in 1892 and is mounted in front of City Hall. The steps were designed and built by early limestone layer and carpenter Herman Glazer. William Koenig designed and built this centennial monument in 1992 for 100 years of Fairfax as the "Mother City of the Rosebud."
