Friendship Cemetery lies southwest twelve blocks away. Two state governors and over 1,000 C.S.A. soldiers, including four generals, are buried here. The decorating of their graves and those of Union soldiers inspired F.M. Finch's "The Blue and the Gray" in 1867.
