James L. Morrison, Jr., Ph.D., established a tradition of excellence in both classroom teaching and scholarship. His classes on the Civil War and military history were legendary among students, and his numerous publications included "The Best School in the World: A History of West Point." He served on several committees of the Academic Senate and as the Advisor to Omega Theta Chi fraternity, received the Professional Service and Leadership Award, and was granted Emeritus status upon his retirement.
