Parts of the front of the Homestead date to circa 1765, but the peaked portion with two windows is older, possibly from the 1730s. That section was moved to the rear in 1860 and then expanded through a series of additions by 1894. A photograph from around 1925 shows Emilie and David Halsey Hallock seated with their daughters Ella and Eula.
