Browne State Forest is a 129-acre public forest in Essex County, Virginia, on the state's coastal plain. Located about 10 miles southeast of Tappahannock and around 45 miles northeast of Richmond, it is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Forestry. The forest provides public recreational access for activities such as hunting, hiking, and mountain biking. Motorized vehicles are not allowed, and some uses may require a valid State Forest Use Permit.
