Fryingpan Glacier lies on the eastern face of Little Tahoma Peak, just east of Mount Rainier in Washington, within a landscape shaped by many glaciers. It is bordered by Emmons Glacier to the north and Whitman Glacier to the south, with only a small ridge and linking snowfield between it and Whitman. Most of the ice spreads across a broad plateau between about 8,000 and 8,600 feet, while its upper reaches begin near the foothill of Little Tahoma Peak around 9,100 to 9,800 feet. Flowing east over uneven ground, the glacier becomes heavily crevassed before tapering into snowfields and alpine meadows, and its meltwater drains to the White River.
