Perfect North Slopes, near Lawrenceburg in southeastern Indiana, is one of only two skiing areas in the state and grew from a modest 1980 family-founded operation on a 200-acre farm into a major Midwestern resort. Beginning with a handful of runs and simple tow lifts, it expanded through added chairlifts, more trails, tubing, terrain parks, and newer features such as Ella Mae Way, a replacement quad chairlift, RFID passes, and stronger snowmaking capacity. Its history includes a long interruption in snowboarding after 1989, an unusual 2006 artificial-snow avalanche, ties to Olympic skier Nick Goepper, and later expansion by its parent company into West Virginia and Michigan.
