Amnicon Falls State Park is an 828-acre Wisconsin state park in South Range, southeast of Superior, known for a compact river landscape where the Amnicon River splits around a small island, flows through a series of waterfalls, and passes beneath a historic covered bridge. Established in 1932 as Bardon Park, it expanded through local land purchases in the 1950s before being transferred to the State of Wisconsin in stages in 1961 and 1965, with later additions increasing its size. Its Upper and Lower Falls, both open to swimming, trails along both riverbanks, snowshoeing route, and campsites have made it one of northern Wisconsin’s most recognizable park settings.
