Confederate soldiers of the C.S.A., from 1861 to 1865, are honored without regard to where they came from or whether they were unknown or famous, united in the same cause and country as men who died wearing the gray. The monument was given by those who revered the memory of the Confederate soldier and was erected under the auspices of the Winnie Davis Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy, with Mrs. H.A. London serving as president, on Aug. 23, 1907.
