Long Cane Church, 4.5 miles northwest, was organized in 1771 as Associate Presbyterian, with the Rev. William Ronaldson as first stated supply. It united with Cedar Springs on March 7, 1786, under Dr. Thos. Clark; withdrew on Sept. 15, 1808; part of the congregation was under the Presbyterian Church in 1818-1819; all reunited with Cedar Spring on Feb. 28, 1828; and withdrew on Jan. 18, 1892. The present building was dedicated on July 20, 1856.
