Founded in 1983 in Roscoe and opened at its present Livingston Manor site in 1995, this nonprofit institution preserves America’s fly-fishing heritage while promoting the sport’s future through education and environmental research. On thirty-five acres beside Willowemoc Creek, and with Junction Pool where Willowemoc Creek meets the Beaver Kill, it occupies a central place in Catskill angling history. Its collections cover equipment, art, and historical artifacts, while its programs teach river ecology, angling history, stream craft, fly tying, casting, aquatic entomology, and stream improvement. By linking recreation with conservation, it has become a leading center of Catskill fly-fishing culture.
