Bonesteel, South Dakota, observed a quasquicentennial spanning 1892 to 2017 under the theme Pride in the Past Faith in the Future. Legacy Park was built in observance of the State Centennial in 1989 and the City of Bonesteel Centennial in 1992. In 2017, Bonesteel celebrated its 125th anniversary and added the Legacy Lane of bricks, one of the original Fort Randall boundary markers known as the Iron Posts, and a quartzite marker that was placed on the South Dakota–Nebraska border. The park is dedicated to L. L. Lillibridge in appreciation of his many efforts and contributions to restore and preserve the town.
