Built in 1914 by Daniel W. Gorby, the opera theatre provided live and moving picture entertainment for residents of Glenn's Ferry as well as travelers on the railroad. Gorby, born in 1883 and died in 1925, was a prominent local businessman. The building was designed by the renowned Boise architects Tourtellotte and Hummel, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and operated fairly consistently through the years predominantly exhibiting films and, more recently, live stage productions. It remains one of the oldest operating theatres in Idaho.
