The Dover Bronze Age Boat is a preserved prehistoric watercraft from about 1575–1520 BC, found in 1992 during road construction between Folkestone and Dover and now displayed at Dover Museum in Kent. One of fewer than 20 Bronze Age boats discovered in Britain, it is regarded as one of the oldest substantially intact boats known, with a surviving 9.5-metre section. Buried in waterlogged silt, the oak-planked vessel was preserved with sewn yew lashings and carved cleats still evident. Its discovery has fueled debate about Bronze Age seafaring, including whether it may have been capable of cross-Channel travel.
