Tecumseh’s history is represented through local buildings, industries, and people, including the Sutton Opera House, Beardsley House, Carnegie Library, the Old Stone Church, the Hewlett Family Barn, the first home in Tecumseh built by Musgrove Evans in 1824 on North Evans Street by the river, the original mill on Chicago Road that burned in 1898 and the William Hayden Milling Company mill rebuilt in 1899, H. Brewer and Company Clay Working Machines, and the Hayden Ford Mill built in 1935 after Henry Ford purchased the former William Hayden Milling Company in 1933 and demolished it. It also includes the Meyer OTW biplane built in the 1940's by Allen H. Meyer at Meyer Airport, Chief Tecumseh, Judge Consider Alphonzo Stacy, Laura Smith Haviland, Mrs. Ray Hazel Herrick, Ray W. Herrick, C. F. Bill Sage, Mrs. Bill Effa L. Sage, Clara Waldron, James C. Lincoln Sr., James J. Robideau, the Tecumseh Products Company refrigeration compressor, and the Tecumseh Corrugated Box Company.
