On Friday, December 14, 1923, Rev. M. H. Hutchins, Bro. Dave Carroll, Sis. Mary Carroll, and Sis. Emma Anderson began a Christian fellowship that was examined by the Old Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Association and found to meet the criteria, as set forth by the Holy Bible and Hiscox Directory, for a Missionary Baptist Church. The first congregation met in a wood frame structure at the corner of Eleventh Street and Mercedes Avenue, and a more substantial building was erected on the same site in 1929. Since its inception, the church has welcomed 13 pastors. In 1987, with Rev. Jackson E. Jones, a groundbreaking was held for the current sanctuary. Under Rev. Delwynn Williams, the church acquired the adjoining property of the former Triumph Church of God, where the Jackson E. Jones Memorial Chapel and Education Center was completed in May 2011.
