The Chapman Museum in Glens Falls, New York, preserves and interprets the history of the Glens Falls–Queensbury community and its connection to the Adirondack region. It operates from the historic DeLong House on Glen Street, a modest home that hardware merchant Zopher DeLong remodeled in 1867 into a two-story brick residence with a mansard roof. After later updates by his son John, the house was donated by Juliet Chapman to serve as a community history museum. The institution received a permanent charter in 1968, and the DeLong House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Expanded facilities now support exhibitions, collections care, research, and education.
