C.S. Lewis Stadium was dedicated on Sept. 21, 1934, with Benton defeating Arkadelphia 19-0. It honors C.S. Lewis, who served as Benton School Board president from 1918 to 1928 and lived from 1868 to 1928, and who was a civic leader and education advocate.
