William M. Tugman State Park is an Oregon state park on Eel Lake, south of Reedsport near U.S. Route 101, that offers both day use and overnight camping. Managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, it is known for fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and wildlife watching. Its facilities include ninety-four RV campsites, sixteen yurts for hikers and bikers, a day-use area, a boat ramp, a fishing dock, and a hiking trail. Eel Lake holds largemouth bass, crappie, stocked rainbow trout, steelhead, and Coho salmon, though Coho must be released. The park honors journalist William M. Tugman, an early leader in Oregon’s park system.
