Snow Mountain stands in remote western Maine’s Oxford County, about four miles south of Quebec, and is also known as Cupsuptic Snow to distinguish it from another nearby peak of the same name. Bordered by Kennebago Divide Mountain to the north and Twin Mountains and West Kennebago Mountain to the south, it occupies an upland position within the upper Androscoggin River watershed. Its slopes drain through several waterways: the west end into Snow Mountain Brook and the Cupsuptic River system, the south side into the East Branch of the Cupsuptic, and the northeast and northwest slopes into Wiggle Brook, which reaches the Kennebago River and Cupsuptic Lake.
