Ellena/Regina Winery, also known as Filippi Winery, is one of five wineries surviving from the 60 operations that once dominated the cultural livelihood of the Cucamonga Valley. After 1949, cofounder John B. Ellena focused almost exclusively on producing wine vinegar, and the Regina Grape Products Co. became the nation's leading producer of wine vinegar. Along with nationwide distribution of wine vinegar, the winery developed the flavor of a destination theme park with daily tours and an annual grape festival. In 1968, the state's first winery restaurant opened there. The property was purchased in 1993 by the City of Rancho Cucamonga, and although city-owned, it is leased by the Filippi family and continues to operate as a working winery, reception center, and gift store where visitors can enjoy wine tasting.
