Bighorn National Forest
Nature

Near the western edge of the Big Horn Mountains, Ten Sleep Canyon’s steep rocky cliffs were the native territory of the bighorn sheep. Disease and the activities of humans and livestock led to their eventual disappearance. They were later reintroduced to this forest through the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Forest Service and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
