The people of Camden Point and the surrounding area honored the men and women of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Merchant Marines, and Navy for their sacrifices in defending and preserving the nation and for their service in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. It also included "Freedom's Flag," a statement attributed to Charles Michael Province of the U.S. Army asserting that the soldier has secured freedoms including freedom of the press, freedom of speech, the freedom to demonstrate, the right to a fair trial, and even the protester's ability to burn the flag.
