The Touma Museum of Medicine in downtown Huntington, West Virginia, was established in 2017 after physicians Joseph B. Touma and Omayma Touma donated more than 2,800 medical artifacts to Marshall University. Named for the Toumas, it explores the history of medicine through themed galleries and reconstructed spaces. Exhibits cover cardiology, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat medicine, dentistry, microscopy, surgery, medical teaching aids, a medical library, and professional tools. Distinctive features include a recreated 1920 general practitioner’s office, Lee’s Pharmacy, leech jars, a restored doctor’s coupe, and a restored 1910 Studebaker, showing both medical technology and the everyday settings of care.
