In the Great Basin, rock art has often been linked to prehistoric game trails. Thousands of years ago, Grimes Point would have been a peninsula surrounded by water, with the edge of a nearby marsh. Hunters could have crouched behind the boulders, waiting for antelope and deer that felt secure coming to water in an area where they could see in all directions.
