Point Lookout Archaeological Site in Gloucester County, Virginia, on present-day Robins Neck, preserves the remains of the original homestead of John Robins, among the first English settlers in the area that became Gloucester County. Its main domestic occupation area was used from the mid-17th century to the mid-19th century and centers on the remains of Robins’ house, built around 1642. Another part of the property contains a trash pit and refuse deposit associated with a 19th-century smokehouse, showing how the homestead continued to operate over time. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
