Orchard Park Depot was erected in 1911 by the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway through the generous efforts of wealthy Orchard Park philanthropist Harry Yates. In 1971, the vacant depot and freight house were purchased by local resident developers Mr. and Mrs. Edmund F. Burke and family. In 1983, to insure restoration and preservation of this historic site, the Burke family donated the land and building to the Western New York Railway Historical Society. The society's energetic labors made possible the restored 1912 grandeur appearance.
