In 1920, the Virginia Hot Springs Company planted trees along this boulevard as a memorial of patriotism and a tribute of honor to the company’s employees and the men of Bath County who served in the Army and Navy of the United States during the World War in 1917 and 1918, declaring that even unto death their name liveth forevermore.
